Why it was recalled
Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a battery short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
What was recalled
Cummins Inc. (Cummins) is recalling the high voltage battery packs in certain PowerDrive 7000 electric drivetrains. Pieces of the internal fasteners in the battery may detach, causing the battery pack to short circuit and fail.
What to do
Dealers will inspect and repair the high voltage battery packs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 9, 2025. Owners may contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467. Cummins's number for this recall is C7135.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
