An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
What was recalled
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain engine block heaters, with part numbers CV6Z-6A051-CA and CV6Z-6A051-AA, sold as accessory parts for certain 2013-2019 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with 2.0L engines. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.
What to do
Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until their vehicle is remedied. Dealers will contact customers with instructions to return the part for a full refund or dealers will replace the block heater once a newly designed part is available, free of charge.
