Why it was recalled
Brake pedal detachment can cause a loss of brake function and increase the risk of a crash.
What was recalled
Polestar Automotive USA, Inc. (Polestar) is recalling certain 2020 Polestar 1 vehicles. The fastener that connects the brake pedal and the brake booster may have been improperly assembled during manufacturing, which can cause the brake pedal to detach from the brake booster.
What to do
Dealers will tighten the pushrod screw joint, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 13, 2024. Owners may contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504. Polestar's number for this recall is RP1039.. Follow the official notice for full instructions.
